Acceptable Use Policy

1. Overview
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") outlines the rules for using Xtel's virtual landline services. By using our services, you agree to comply with this policy.
2. Prohibited Activities
You must not use Xtel services for:
- Illegal activities, including fraud, harassment, or threats
- Unsolicited marketing calls (spam) in violation of PECR regulations
- Calls that are abusive, offensive, or discriminatory
- Impersonating another person or organization
- Activities that violate Ofcom regulations
- Attempting to compromise the security of our systems
- Reselling services without authorization
3. Fair Usage
"Unlimited" plans are subject to fair usage. This means reasonable business use, not:
- Call center operations with extremely high volumes
- Automated dialing systems without prior approval
- Systematic use designed to circumvent our business model
4. Call Recording
If you use our call recording feature, you are responsible for:
- Informing callers that calls may be recorded
- Complying with UK law regarding consent for recordings
- Securing access to recorded calls
- Deleting recordings when no longer needed
5. Emergency Services
Xtel services are not designed for emergency calls. Do not rely on Xtel as your primary method of contacting emergency services (999). Always have an alternative means of communication.
6. Number Porting
You may port numbers in accordance with Ofcom's General Conditions. Numbers must be ported within legal requirements, and you must not use numbers obtained through fraudulent means.
7. Consequences of Violations
Violations of this AUP may result in:
- Warning and request to cease the activity
- Temporary suspension of services
- Permanent termination of your account
- Reporting to law enforcement or Ofcom
- Legal action to recover damages
8. Reporting Violations
If you become aware of any violation of this policy, please report it immediately to support@thextel.com.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this AUP from time to time to reflect changes in regulations or our services. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
